While many doubted his ability to be a loving and supportive father given his half-demon background and rowdy personality, Inuyasha has demonstrated his full transition to fatherhood in these touching scenes. Now that Inuyasha is able to mentor and protect his daughter in person, he can finally become the hands-on father he always wanted to be. Kirinmaru ultimately decided to leave the battlefield to go help his own daughter, Rion, after she collapsed. When Kirinmaru tried to stop the three half-demon princesses from leaving, Inuyasha stood in his way and declared he wouldn't let him lay a finger on his daughter. Inuyasha advised Moroha, saying she should help her friends and go with them, demonstrating a surprising amount of care toward his nieces despite his complex history with his half-brother.

Kirinmaru was angered by this fatherly exchange and said he'll no longer hold back against women and children. Moroha objected and declared she'll fight alongside him, and he agreed to let her fight but warned her not to push herself. When Kirinmaru suddenly appeared at the Bone-Eater's Well to interrupt their touching family conversation, Inuyasha jumped in front of Moroha and Kagome and told them to stay safely back. Inuyasha proudly noted that she's outgrown her old bow and they assured her the new one will protect her.
In Episode 41 of Yashahime, Inuyasha and Kagome presented Moroha with a brand-new bow they built with her father's hair while they were stuck in the Black Pearl. Afterward, Moroha fell asleep in his lap and he experienced the joys of being a father for the first time. When the half-demon father and his daughter finally met face-to-face, Inuyasha embraced Moroha as she cried. When Moroha quickly flew above her parents while confronting the barrier at Mount Musubi, Inuyasha smiled and remarked to Kagome on how big their daughter had grown. Despite wanting to be active in his daughter's life, he was forced to watch from the sidelines with the help of Jaken's Staff of Two Heads that showed the parents glimpses of Moroha's life as she grew up. Since Inuyasha was forced to spend the first 14 years of his daughter's life away from her, he missed out on the opportunity to raise his child from infancy. Shortly after Moroha's birth, Inuyasha and Kagome stood up against Kirinmaru during the night of the grim comet because he was after their daughter. In the time skip between Inuyasha and Yashahime, fans were delighted to see the beloved couple had a quarter-demon daughter named Moroha.
However, the half-demon couldn't deny his feelings for Kagome before she was sent back to the modern era and they were forced to spend years apart. By the end of the series, he finally decided to marry Kagome and settle down after she reunited with him in the Feudal Era. He also spent the majority of the original series dwelling over his long-lost love, the powerful priestess named Kikyo. Since Inuyasha has always led the dangerous life of a half-demon, being a parent never appeared to be a viable option for him. When he was younger, Inuyasha focused his time and energy on collecting the Shikon Jewel shards and becoming stronger than his older brother Sesshōmaru.
